Bozeman needs
more homes
of all shapes & sizes,
for all of our neighbors.

Bozeman’s housing options are not working for regular people.

There is a better way.

Bozeman Welcoming Neighbors is a coalition of local community groups and leaders coming together to solve our city’s housing shortage by restoring the housing strategies that made Bozeman affordable in the first place.

Bozeman’s current zoning code bans workforce housing options proven to be affordable, like fourplexes and sixplexes.

In most places, the only legal home to build is the most expensive version: a single-detached house on a large lot. Under this status quo, old houses are turning into unaffordable McMansions left & right.

Bozeman’s working people need more housing options.

Bozeman has a choice:
More McMansions or more middle class homes?

If the zoning code doesn’t change, old Bozeman homes will continue to be replaced by unaffordable McMansions.

Code reform gives our city an opportunity to push builders to produce homes that today’s and tomorrow’s Bozeman families can afford across income levels – if we use this opportunity to legalize workforce housing options.
